As of today, you can send a notification to someone you\u2019ve split a bill with to remind them that they owe you money. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For some of you, this\u2019ll be the very thing you needed to gently nudge those friends who mysteriously miss your bill split requests. And for those friends, well \u2013 hopefully it\u2019s helpful for them too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We wrote the reminder in a way that we hope won\u2019t cause stress<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

No one likes being chased for money. You might be aware you need to pay and haven\u2019t got round to doing it yet. Or you might genuinely have missed the initial bill split request. But it\u2019s also possible that you don\u2019t have the money to pay that person right now, and we wanted to be mindful of that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We wanted to write a template notification that wouldn\u2019t alarm the receiver or make them feel anxious. So this is what we\u2019ve gone with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s soft in tone, it doesn\u2019t put too much pressure on the reader, and it opens in a friendly way. Instead of the first words being \u2018Payment reminder!\u2019 or \u2018You still owe [name]\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whatever we wrote also needed to be short. Because after all, anything much longer than this and you might not read it. We\u2019re all human, and we\u2019ve all got a million and one things fighting for our attention at any given time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019ve limited it to one payment reminder a day<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Any more than that and we were worried it\u2019d be annoying for the person who owes the money. Our aim here is to give you a useful feature, not an irritating one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019ll be able to send a new reminder from 0:01am each day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We only send a reminder to the people who haven\u2019t paid yet<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019ve split a bill with a group of people, it\u2019s only those who haven\u2019t paid that\u2019ll get a reminder. If someone\u2019s settled up with you, they won\u2019t get a notification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
